Procrastination

Brian and I are the King and Queen of procrastination.
Well mostly I am.
I am still shopping for Christmas 3 days before Christmas. HAHAHA *nervous laugh*
Oh well........

We entered the second trimester on Sunday!! I still have "morning" sickness, but not as often. Baby is doing fine, and growing and starting to squirm. I am feeling only little flutters here and there, but it is such a cool feeling.

I found out that I will only have to go to Philly for one week now instead of three. So I will be in Philly from January 3rd through January 8th. Then, Mary and I are driving up to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area for the weekend. Then I will be home on the 10th.

We are still planning our vacation to California at the end of January. Brian's wedding gift from me was an away Wild jersey; and he got to pick an away game to go to. So, he choose the San Jose Sharks. It just so happens that Heidi's birthday is January 29th. They live in Walnut Creek, CA, which is only 30 minutes away from San Jose. So we get to hang out with the Kirby's for a week and finally meet Madeline, the newest member of their family.

We can't wait to spend this holiday with all of our family and friends. We hope everyone has a safe, warm and memorable Christmas!!!

Hockey - Heat update

So, we haven't had a lot of luck this season with Brian's hockey team.
Our original goalie was injured in the first period in our first game.
We haven't won a game all season, and even Brian got minorly injured. (he just stopped a puck with the inside of his foot - he can walk now - so he's fine) :)

If you would like to come out to a game, all directions for the rinks can be found at www.rinkfinder.com
We are usually there at least a half an hour before the game starts.

Thanks

We cannot say "Thank you" enough to all of our friends and family. You have truly helped us become who we are today. We are so excited to be adding to our family!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We got to spend time with most of all sides of our families. We even already picked up our Christmas tree. We won't set it up until we clean the house a little more, and rearrange the living room yet again.

We hope everyone had a wonderful and memorable Thanksgiving;
- HERE COMES CHRISTMAS!!!

Cold

So, now I have a cold. I was told that I could be congested during the whole pregnancy. But now I have a full-blown cold, and of course, I can not take anything for it.

I tried to eat some seriously spicy queso, but Scout (our dog) decided he needed to try it before I could eat it. Oh well.

I hope this goes away by tomorrow so I can enjoy all the yummy goodness at The Nelsons and then more yummy goodness with dessert at The Jensens!!!!

Ultrasound

We got to see the baby!!!!

We had our ultrasound on Tuesday and it really made everything real!

The baby was 2.81cm long, and it's heartbeat was 167.

As soon as we can scan the pictures, we will post them!

Our updated due date is June 20, 2010! Yep that's Father's Day!
I get so confused about the whole, the first 2 weeks of the pregnancy is when you aren't even pregnant. So whatever, we are 9 weeks 4 days pregnant.

Excitement

We had our first OB appointment on the 9th. The doc says I am a week ahead of what I think I am, so we get to have an early ultrasound for dating.

So, we go in for our first ultrasound tomorrow and I am beyond ecstatic! I know Brian will record the heartbeat and I can't wait to get some pictures! I am pretty sure we will get some pictures, so I will definitely post them. I just can't wait til the appointment is over and I can feel some relief. I will admit there is part of me that feels this isn't real, even though I have been sick as a dog.

I have been feeling a little better lately, but I am still exhausted. I have been trying not to work such long hours, and some days I succeed at that.

Brian has been amazing!!! I am so exhausted and he has done so much! He has put up the Christmas lights already (twice, cause he had to fix some), done almost all of the laundry (trust me it's a lot), put up with my already crazy mood swings, reorganized our new furniture in the bedroom and even bought me some chocolate. So to surprise him, I decided to buy him the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I told him it was time for him to relax and not do anything over the weekend. So, I got out of his hair, went shopping with my mom on Saturday and then had to work Sunday. I think he is really enjoying the game.

Hopefully, I'll post some pictures tomorrow....

Lately

So Halloween was completely uneventful! We didn't even have a single trick-or-treater! We still did a little trick-or-treating of our own, and delivered baby trick-or-treater baskets to 2 of our sisters.
We then sent 5 more baskets to other siblings and friends across the country.

We are slowing telling friends, and cannot wait til we have our first appointment next Monday! We will finally get to figure out how far along we really are. As of right now I think our due date will be anywhere between June 12th and June 26th.

Well, I have tried to enjoy my day off as much as possible, but now I must run errands. O, sleep how I do love you right now!

Exhaustion

I am utterly exhausted. I got 8 hours of sleep last night, but that doesn't compare to the usual 10-13 that I have been getting every night for the past week and a half.

I made it through the day though without a nap.

Brian's parents came over, and we shared the big news with them after they looked at the wedding pictures. They were so happy for us, and of course told us to not get sick and take care of ourselves. I think they really enjoyed their gifts as well.

So, I am taking their advice and I am going to bed; yes at 9:00pm.

Hey - I work in the morning and that will only give me 10 hours of sleep, that's on the low end of the average.

Dang Camera

We forgot to check if our camera had it's memory card in.

It didn't.

We told my dad and step mom tonight, and they are ecstatic. They had somewhat the same reaction of my mom - "I can't believe already! We expected an announcement at Christmas."

My Dad is already referring to me as "the mom".
Lynn, my step mom, is bursting at the seams. She insisted that we tell everyone that we need to tell before she tells the whole world the happy news.

So, we came up with an idea with the help of my brother, Taylor. We are going to send my step-sisters that live out of state a baby pumpkin with an assortment of baby things. Then for our sisters that live in town, we are going to surprise them trick or treating in our Halloween costumes. I think I am going to wear a shirt that says something like Baby with an arrow pointing down. Or just get the "bun in the oven costume". Taylor was joking that Brian should dress up as Michael Phelps, hence the good swimmers joke.

Day of Firsts

Today was a day of firsts!!!

Our First Month Anniversary!

Brian's First Hockey game of the season.
Brian's First Penalty of the season; which was also his First unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the season, in the First Period to boot.
Brian's team's first loss of the season.

First time in the pregnancy that I haven't passed out before 11pm.

Morning Sickness.....YEAH RIGHT!!!!

Why in the world do they call it morning sickness?

I've been sooo sick at night. If I eat a big meal after 5:00pm, I'm throwing up by 7:00pm or 7:30pm. The only thing that seems to help is ice cream - I know, I know some people might say it's all in my head. Well, if you want to witness my puking, feel free to make me eat a big dinner after 5:00pm, then stick around. I am sure Brian would love a break of rubbing my back, running for water, and holding back my hair as I am praying to the porcelain gods.

Today was the first day that I am actually feeling sick in the morning. But I attribute that to forgetting to take my prenatal vitamin at night, and therefore I took it this morning. There are warnings out there that prenatal vitamins can upset your stomach. I thought taking it with juice and eating yogurt would help; Nope!

Of course there was a week or so that all that felt good in my stomach was saltine crackers and sprite. I was so shocked people at work didn't assume and start spreading the rumors.

We told my mom last night! She was so amazed! She loved the book and didn't get it until she opened up the front cover and read
"Can't wait to meet you in June 2010!
Love, Baby Jeannette"

She was in awe, and was surpised that we didn't have any trouble getting pregnant, not to mention it being right after the wedding! We told my brother as well, by giving him a baby cell phone and telling him that he was in charge of teaching the baby to text. (Taylor is always texting)

How we're telling our parents

We were planning on telling all of our parents together, but we couldnt find a good time to get them all over to our house at the same time. So, we are having them come over when they can to look at wedding pictures. Then we will be having them open a gift. We are going to tell them that the gift is just a small thank you for all of their love and support and all of their help during the wedding.

We wanted each gift to be something that remind us of a childhood memory with our parent.

My mom is coming over tonight and this book was one that we read together all the time:

My dad and step mom are coming over on Monday. I remember a time when my dad was going through flash cards with my brother and I started saying all the answers before him. I also found a bib that I will be giving to my dad, that says "I Love Grandpa".

I also made a onesie from a pack of 5 that says "Grandma's Poopsack"; that is what my step mom calls all her grandkids.

Brian's parents are coming over Tuesday night. Brian has a great picture of him sitting on the toilet reading his favorite childhood book. That book will be his mom's present.

Brian's dad of course started him out with his first toolset. They still even argue over which tools are whose.

We will post their reactions once they find out!

Our Wedding

We had such an amazing time celebrating the joining of our two families on September 25, 2009! Below are some pictures that we love!
